How we both met

We met on the San Antonio strip in Ibiza after one too many drinks… We clicked straight away and Chris made the effort to keep in touch back in the UK.

What started as a holiday romance quickly became a long-distance relationship between Stoke-on-Trent and Aberdeen, but the distance didn’t matter because we knew we were right for each other AND look where we are now!

The Wedding Venue

Our wedding ceremony was at Beamish Hall Hotel in the Monboucher suite.

Why we chose to have a celebrant wedding ceremony

We simply bumped into Jo at a wedding fayre and got chatting, and I’m so glad we did! After Jo had talked us through what a celebrant wedding could look like, we just couldn’t imagine it any other way after that. Being able to focus on our ‘love story’ rather than the nitty gritty details and legalities is exactly what we wanted.

Ideas about what our ceremony could have looked like

We wanted a ceremony where our guests could feel relaxed and we wanted them to feel like they were a part of our story.

We loved the idea of doing something symbolic and settled on a sand ceremony which is now ours to keep forever!

The best part of the ceremony for us

We LOVED how personal it was – no one will ever have a ceremony like ours, the words spoken were unique to us. Being able to write and deliver our own vows was so special, safe to say there was lots of tears, smiles and laughter.

Honestly, I would recommend writing your own vows to everyone – you won’t regret it!

What our guests said about our wedding ceremony/day

As i write this to be part of Jo’s mini blog – it is now almost eight weeks since the wedding.  Lots of our family and friends still won’t shut up about it – they absolutely loved it.  So many people said it was the best and most emotional ceremony they have ever experienced.

Some of our fav wedding suppliers and why we chose them

  • Jo of course!
  • Mission Studios Photography – Such down to earth guys and made it so easy to feel comfortable in front of the camera.
  • Macauley Cullen Videography – Mac really felt more like a friend than a supplier and we are so pleased with the final product.
  • Make-up by Urszula – Just can’t wait to get my makeup done again, I felt so beautiful!
  • Kelly Gray Bridal Hair – I still have no idea how Kelly made my fine hair look so good and how she got my veil to stay in all day.
  • The Little Flower House – Sharon was amazing to work with and brought our vision to life.
  • Martin Duffy Magician – Our guests just loved him.  Magicians aren’t just for kids!
  • Andy Usher Music – The saxophone was a huge hit and our guests said it was the most the ever danced at a wedding.

Three words that sum up our ‘Love Jo’ experience!

Tears, Laughter, Joy!
