How we both met

Working together in Newcastle at Jd Sports.

The Wedding Venue

Our ceremony was in Cathedral Cave, little langdale, Lake District. Followed by an evening meal at the Wild Boar Inn, Windermere.

Why we chose to have a celebrant wedding ceremony

A) what registrar would come to a cave?!

B) we wanted it to be as personal as possible to us.

Ideas about what our ceremony could have looked like

We wanted small, intimate and personal.

The best part of the ceremony for us

The best part was how personal it felt. It was almost as if Jo had been the third wheel in our relationship for the past 10 years.

What our guests said about our wedding ceremony/day

Everyone loved it and loved how “us” it all felt!

Some of our fav wedding suppliers and why we chose them

  • Dress – Bridal reloved in Morpeth. I was put off the idea of spending thousands on a dress I didn’t feel comfortable in and would also end up getting trashed. I went to see Elle and surprisingly did find a dress I felt comfortable in but yes.. it did get trashed! (Memories though)
  • Flowers – Hidden Botanics. Stumbled upon this page on social media when I was left stumped by how I could logistically transport flowers 2.5 house across the country 2 days before the ceremony. I felt I had no choice but to go for dried/artificial flowers but it worked so well and the team were so great at creating the perfect flowers for the day based off a disorganised Pinterest board I had made.
  • Rings – handmade at the glamorous owl. This was a lot of fun and quite symbolic being able to make each others.
  • Make up – Hollyshekmua – best friend since school. I don’t think it would’ve made sense going to anyone else.
  • Hair – another best friend Georgia Robson. She has since stopped doing hair as she’s moved away from Newcastle so felt quite sad that I was her last bride but she did such an amazing job.
  • Evening meal – The Wild Boar – Amy did such an amazing job setting out the room with all of the little bits of put together and helping me create a full timeline of the day. They are a licensed venue, however they do not come with a cave or a celebrant!
  • Axe throwing – Michael Coates – this was so much fun!

And the incredible Pete from Eye of the Tyne Photography (one of Jo’s fav photographers of all time)! x

Three words that sum up our ‘Love Jo’ experience!

So ‘Intimate, personal & AMAZING’.
