How we both met

We met in Las Vegas. We met each other on a ‘fun run’ in the Nevada desert the day before a work conference we were both attending began. We bumped into each other in the queue for the event t-shirts and ran the
whole way there/back together. We’ve been inseparable since.

Why we chose to have a celebrant wedding ceremony

We saw Jo do a friend’s wedding on ‘Zoom’ during the pandemic and after seeing how Jo delivered the ceremony with such care, heart and
enthusiasm we knew immediately that Jo was the one for us.

Ideas about what our ceremony could have looked like

Absolutely none at all minus doing our own vows. Jo really helped us to figure out what would suit our personalities because she has so many
options available and stories from her other ceremonies to help you make
the right decision.

The best part of the ceremony for us

Sharing our vows with friends and family, and the ring blessing. We’d already been legally married during the pandemic after it cancelled our
initial wedding with 4 days to go in the first lockdown. So we needed
something to symbolise our unity, so the ring blessing seemed like the
perfect option.

What our guests said about our wedding ceremony/day

Lots of people said they don’t normally cry or laugh during wedding ceremonies but they did during ours; they loved it. Lots of people said they enjoyed having a giggle, spending time together, exploring the venue, and eating the gorgeous food from the Pumping House’s caterers.

Some of our fav wedding suppliers and why we chose them

  • Danielle, Peonies and Plumes – We loved her flowers because they were so different, modern and minimal. A photo was sent to Danielle of our outfits for the day, and we fully trusted her to create something that would complement the entire look we were going for; she absolutely nailed it.
  • Caroline Goosey, Photographer – We were recommended Caroline by Faye from Wild Calligraphy. She put a shout out on Facebook for suppliers for our last minute legal ceremony in September 2020 and of the long list of people who responded offering their help, when we saw Caroline’s portfolio we just loved how natural the photos were. It wasn’t like a magazine editorial, they were beautiful natural moments captured spectacularly. We then met Caroline for our pre-shoot at Wollaton Hall and just loved her. She’s now doing my sister’s wedding.
  • Sian, This Will Be Forever – We’d seen Sian’s props before from promo shoots with other suppliers on Instagram and loved the aesthetic. The neon lights were a perfect nod to where we met (Las Vegas) and the aesthetic of the other props we rented were very ‘us’.

Three words that sum up our ‘Love Jo’ experience?

Heart warming, Fun & Encouraging.
