How we both met

We actually went to the same secondary school & became friends at about thirteen years old. Dan asked me out when we left school at sixteen & we have been together ever since!

The Wedding Venue

Our wedding was at the beautiful Jesmond Dene House.

Why we chose to have a celebrant wedding ceremony

After three wedding date rearrangements due to the pandemic we decided that the big church wedding we initially planned no longer felt important. A smaller, more intimate ceremony with our closest family & friends meant the most to us & after speaking to another of our suppliers about our new plans they recommended Jo straight away. We were given so much freedom to create our perfect ceremony.

Ideas about what our ceremony could have looked like

We knew we wanted our ceremony to have a relaxed atmosphere with personal moments included but we thought we would have to stick to a traditional script. Jo introduced us to so many brilliant ideas. We were able to add some humour into the ceremony, we included special mentions of important people who couldn’t be with us, music & so much more.

The best part of the ceremony for us

I cant choose! Can I just say all of it! Jo is an absolute pro & her energy & loving nature shines through in her work. She made us both feel so comfortable that I knew the ceremony was in perfect hands & we both felt we could enjoy it just as much as our guests. I think my favourite part may of just been the vibe that was set up for the rest of the day!

What our guests said about our wedding ceremony/day

They LOVED it! I seen so many of our guests stopping Jo after the ceremony to tell her how beautiful it was which made me so happy not just for us but for her! When your guests remember specific parts/words used in the script you know she had them hooked throughout. The Sip & Save we included in the ceremony went down a treat with our guests too. Yet another amazing idea from Jo that made our wedding so unique & rememberable.

Some of our fav wedding suppliers and why we chose them

  • Abigail Grace Videographer – An absolute angel. Cannot recommend her enough. Abigail accommodated & changed wedding dates for us countless times, she was so understanding & did everything she could to help us throughout our wedding planning. She is super hard working, extremely talented & an overall sweet, fun girl who captured our day perfectly.
  • Lee – Sophotogenic Photography – Top class! Lee is so down to earth, a brilliant guy to keep you relaxed & full of laughter. He is a complete pro at organising group & family photos on the day & his work is absolutely beautiful! Our photos are perfect!! Both him & Abi blended in so well with our guests that you forget they are taking photos. 100% recommend!
  • Sprig & Thistle – Outstanding service & flowers that were out of this world! Jess is so talented, not only did she create the most beautiful bouquets for me & my bridesmaids as well as button holes & corsages, but she styled the venue for us too! Her floral arrangements & ceremony room styling were perfection. She knew the venue & what would work best with the vibe we wanted to create! She is incredibly talented & deserves all the success that is coming her way.
  • Etch & Cut – Amazing talent & beautiful products. The girls made our wedding day stationary including our welcome sign, seating arrangment sign, table numbers, name places all in perspex with the addition of the green throughout it all to work with our colour scheme. Their work is so professional & stylish & they made our lives so easy by sending us beautiful mock up designs that gave us the easiest job of just saying yes!

Loving the fact that the North East is full of so many talented suppliers!
