How we both met
Me and Ollie were connected through friends when he got my number at a work do, and he proceeded to get the train over the Pennines to meet me 12 hours later from Sheffield to Manchester.
The Wedding Venue
We had a beautiful fairytale wedding at Thicket Priory.
Why we chose to have a celebrant wedding ceremony
When you choose a venue such as Thicket Priory, it only makes sense to make the ceremony just as special.
Instead of the standard “I do’s” we wanted to share a bit more of our story with our guests and have a bit more fun with it! It feels so lovely to be stood up there with your husband/wife to be whilst recanting the beginnings of your love story together as well!
Ideas about what our ceremony could have looked like
We just wanted to feel comfortable! (We didn’t want something that felt too serious, as we are a very un-serious couple).
The ceremony felt perfect for us and we shared lots of laughs, and cried with our guests.
The best part of the ceremony for us
We chose to have a reading during our ceremony which was done by my sister. She wrote a poem which got some laughs and cries from the crowd. I looked out to the crowd and everyone had tears in their eyes which did make me chuckle but it was a very sweet moment that is now treasured in my heart.
What our guests said about our wedding ceremony/day
We got so many compliments about what a wonderful ceremony it was! Everyone said they thought it was perfect and loved hearing about our story and they all asked for a copy of my sisters poem! It was a lovely touch!
Some of our fav wedding suppliers and why we chose them
We had so many lovely suppliers!
- We had Frances McMahon as my photographer because she just takes dreamy photos at dreamy venues.
- Studio Blosm as my florist because I saw her at a wedding fair and she was just so cool and her florals were just so unique and modern.
- Nomad Catering did an amazing thai food spread for our meal which everyone is still raving about.
- Sonia Schofield did beautiful hair and make up for me and my bridesmaids.
- Palms bakery made me the vintage heart cake of my dreams!
Three words that sum up our ‘Love Jo’ experience!
Caring, loving and full of laughter!
