How we both met
Our dogs met before we did!
After speaking online, a chance encounter dropping the dogs off at doggy day-care we decided to go on a date. The rest is history!

Why we chose to have a celebrant wedding ceremony
We wanted our ceremony to be totally personalised, and for our guests to be involved – more than a registrar ceremony could offer.
Ideas about what our ceremony could have looked like
Jo read the ceremony through to us and edited until perfect, so we knew what to expect, but it still blew us away on the day!
The best part of the ceremony for us
We loved the whole thing!
Seeing everyone smiling and being able to include some of our guests. And seeing our guest react for the first time to Jo’s beautiful words!
What our guests said about our wedding ceremony/day
Our guests absolutely loved the ceremony!
They all said they had never seen a wedding like it. So personal and emotional. Many were shocked to learn that we have only known Jo for a few months, saying that she spoke about us like we had been friends for years!
Some of our fav wedding suppliers and why we chose them
- Our florist, Vicky (Floral Quarter) put us at ease from our first meeting. We were confident in her creativity and that she could execute our vision. After booking with Vicky, she went on to win North East Florist of the Year from the Wedding Industry Awards and after our wedding she revealed that she had done the flowers for Netflix’s Love Is Blind UK – so we were definitely in safe hands!
- Our photographer/videographer (Lakeland Media) offered natural photos which never looked too forced or posed. They were always in the right place at the right time to capture the moment, but never felt intrusive of our big day.
- Aurora Strings – A brilliantly talented group of musicians forming a string quartet which provided modern music with a twist to perfectly accentuate our wedding day.
- Hart Medical – Gave us personalised skincare treatments to ensure we were looking our best for the big day!
- The Sawdust Emporium created simple wooden A-Frames which were decorated by our florist as ceremony backdrops and for our welcome sign / order of the day. They complemented the venue and theme perfectly.
- Borderland – a lively band which played throughout the evening celebration. Our guests loved their music and energy while dancing the night away!
